EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC) today announced that the following seven Channel leaders across EMC, its RSA Security Division, and Iomega Corporation have been honored in CRN Magazine's 2012 Women of the Channel award program, recognized by the industry for their work as influential leaders within their own company and the IT Channel as a whole:
- Linda Connly, Senior Vice President, Global Inside Sales & US Mid-Market Geography, EMC
- Julie Christiansen, Director, Global Channel Marketing, EMC
- Kara Myers, Director of Americas Channel Marketing, EMC
- Maureen Perrelli, Director, Channel Distribution, EMC
- Anne Wimmer, Director of Global Channels, Backup Recovery Systems Division, EMC
- Christine Bufalini, Manager of Global Channel Operations & Enablement, RSA, The Security Division of EMC
- Kate Roe-Semyon, Director of Channel Sales at Iomega, an EMC company
Furthermore, Linda Connly, Julie Christiansen and Kara Myers were named among this year's Power 100 – an elite subset of CRN's annual Women of the Channel list that recognizes individuals who have reached the highest levels of success in the IT Channel industry based on their achievements as executives and influence they wield in the field.
This year's Power 100 and Women of the Channel were selected by the editors of CRN from a field of applications and nominations spanning vendor Channel organizations, distributors and solution providers. Criteria for selection was based on the role each applicant played over the past year in driving revenue for their company and the steps they have taken to evangelize the importance of the IT Channel.
All seven women made significant impacts in the EMC, RSA and Iomega Channel Partner programs by contributing to the development and introduction of new programs and practices, while enhancing existing ones to provide the most Partner-friendly experience in the industry:
- Linda Connly, Senior Vice President of Global Inside Sales & US Mid-Market Geography, EMC – In 2011, Connly oversaw the introduction of two industry-leading Channel-only products – the EMC VNXe® series of unified storage systems and the new EMC Data Domain® DD160 deduplication storage system – to EMC's Partner community. Since its introduction in January 2011 through the end of Q1 2012, the VNXe brought in nearly 6,000 new customers, most of which were acquired by more than 2,000 new Channel Partners. This year, Connly is focused on creating even more opportunities for EMC's Channel Partners through unique solutions and strong lead generation activities to help new and existing Partners build their pipelines.
- Julie Christiansen, Director of Global Channel Marketing, EMC – Christiansen played a key leadership role on several "firsts" for EMC's Channel program including planning and executing the company's first annual Global Partner Summit held at EMC World in May, launching the Channel-only EMC VSPEX™ Proven Infrastructure to enable Partners to more easily support their customers journey to the cloud, and introducing the Easy Street Partner brand campaign, the first fully translated global integrated Partner loyalty campaign for the Channel. These key events, solutions and programs have increased Partner's mindshare and loyalty to EMC. This year, she is focused on implementing "meet at the Channel" strategies and programs with and through the EMC Velocity™ Partners.
- Kara Myers, Director of Americas Channel Marketing, EMC – In 2011, Myers launched EMC's first Marketing Advisory Council in the Americas, bringing Partners closer to the development of campaigns and programs that support their business. She also played a key leadership role in the launch of the EMC VNX® family of unified storage systems and led her team to enable EMC's participation in more than 75 Partner launch events across the Americas. Looking ahead, Myers is focused on supporting additional self-service marketing tools to enable Partners to be more self-sufficient and make it easier to do business with EMC.
- Maureen Perrelli, Director of Channel Distribution, EMC – Perrelli played an instrumental role in 2011's roll out of the EMC VNXe series of unified storage systems and the new EMC Data Domain DD160 deduplication storage system. Both products helped provide more sales opportunities for the Channel than ever before. Perrelli is focused on facilitating a stronger global alignment with distributors worldwide.
- Anne Wimmer, Director of Global Channels, Backup Recovery Systems Division, EMC – In 2011, Wimmer helped facilitate deeper unification of various elements of EMC's Global Channel organization into "one EMC Channel" to better align strategies and ensure a positive experience for our Partners across EMC's vast product portfolio. This year, Wimmer will focus on creating greater awareness and opportunity for Partners to increase their overall revenue and profitability with EMC's market leading backup and archive portfolio.
- Kate Roe-Semyon, Director of Channel Sales at Iomega, an EMC company – Last year, Roe-Semyon helped launch Iomega's new ioclub™ Partner program, shift its sales organization from a focus on consumer to B2B products, introduced the Iomega® StorCenter™ PX Series of NAS products to the Channel, and provided Iomega's sales team with new reporting tools. In 2012, she is focused on growing Iomega's B2B business, strengthening relationships with VARs, expanding Iomega's Channel programs and increasing Iomega's NAS market share position in the United States.
- Christine Bufalini, Manager of Global Channel Operations & Enablement, RSA – In 2011, Bufalini contributed to the successful launch of RSA's newly branded Partner training program, RSA SecurWorld™ Academy. She also helped fully integrate into the Channel RSA NetWitness® solutions which were acquired by RSA in April 2011. In 2012, Bufalini will focus on several initiatives including revamping RSA's Partner portal to better reflect the progress RSA has made over the last year around enablement and marketing.
