WESTPORT, Conn., Jan. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of SeriousFun Children's Network has named Maurice Pratt as Board Chair, with Don Gogel stepping into the role of Vice Chair. The change was effective January 1, 2019. SeriousFun Children's Network, founded by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman, is a community of 30 camps and programs around the world that offer life-changing camp experiences to children with serious illnesses and their families, always free of charge.
Maurice Pratt is currently Chairman of Uniphar Plc, a health care services group based in Dublin, Ireland. He is also Chairman of Barretstown (the SeriousFun camp in Ireland), European Movement Ireland, the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation, and Nursing Homes Ireland. He serves on the boards of Independent Express Cargo and Donnelly Fruit & Veg. He is a trustee and former President of IBEC, the leading business lobby group. His previous executive roles include CEO of beverages group C&C Group plc and Managing Director of Tesco Ireland. Mr. Pratt joined the SeriousFun Children's Network Board in 2011 and served as Vice Chair since October 2013.
Donald J. Gogel serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC, a private equity investment firm that he joined in 1989. CD&R currently manages more than $20 billion in capital with a portfolio of 27 companies that together have $50 billion in revenues and 180,000 employees around the world. The firm has been a leader for 40 years in integrating senior operative executives into its partnership. Mr. Gogel is a member of the Business Council and the Trilateral Commission. He is Senior Vice Chairman of The Mount Sinai Medical System, Vice Chairman of the Cancer Research Institute and a Trustee of The Rhodes Trust. Mr. Gogel served as SeriousFun Children's Network Board Chair since October 2013.
