RESTON, Va., Jan. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services to the Federal government, today announced four key leadership appointments.
Gary Shankman has joined the Company as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As CFO, Shankman will be responsible for leading the corporate finance and accounting functions as well as certain other administrative functions. Shankman will report to Serco's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ed Casey.
Shankman brings to Serco more than 30 years of government contracting experience. For the past eight years, he was CFO for the Defense Solutions Group at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and oversaw the accounting and finance operations involving $5 billion in annual revenue and 14,000 employees. While at SAIC, he led efforts focused on driving the business including strategic planning, business process transformation, and mergers and acquisitions.
Shankman began his career with Arthur Andersen where he provided both auditing and consulting services to government contractors, including compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Cost Accounting Standards. In addition to his consulting background, he has held previous positions as a corporate controller and head of mergers and acquisitions.

Chris Sullivan has joined the Company as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). As CIO, Sullivan will lead the corporate Information Technology (IT) department and oversee the strategic direction of Serco's IT systems to support the business. He will report to Ed Casey.
Sullivan has over 25 years of experience in the IT arena. Prior to joining Serco, he was CIO of CSC's North American Public Sector. At CSC, he was responsible for the strategic direction, operations, and overall business management of the internal IT environment for a $6 billion business unit with more than 29,000 employees worldwide. Before joining CSC in 2003, he held various positions in IT strategy, operations and software development at AT&T, DynCorp, and Network Access Solutions.

Candy Curtin has been named as the Senior Vice President of the Human Resources (HR) department. She has been serving as Interim Head for the past year. With this appointment, she will oversee Compensation, Benefits, HR Compliance, Recruitment, Business Support, and Talent Management. Curtin has been with Serco for over 12 years and has over 20 years of HR experience in the government and commercial sector. Prior to joining Serco, she served as head of HR for the State Department Credit Union. Curtin will report to Ed Casey.

Jim Orndorff has joined Serco as Vice President of the Intelligence Business Unit. In this position, he will lead the business unit that provides advanced solutions and services to the Federal government's intelligence community. Orndorff will report to Harry Gatanas, Executive Vice President of the Defense and Intelligence Business Group.
Orndorff came to Serco from SAIC, where he was Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the company's cyber and intelligence business areas. In this role, he contributed to SAIC's corporate strategy and planned long-term growth in the areas of advanced payloads, intelligence processing, big data and cybersecurity. Throughout his career, Orndorff has successfully led SAIC's largest and most complex programs involving intelligence, homeland security and national defense.
