SeraCare Life Sciences Unveils Nets for Kids Program
New initiative designed to protect children from insect-borne disease
MILFORD, Mass., Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SeraCare Life Sciences, a provider of high-quality biological materials that help optimize diagnostic performance, reliability and repeatability across the IVD lifecycle, today announced the Nets for Kids initiative. For every purchase over $100 of insect-borne disease products, SeraCare will donate a mosquito net to a child in a developing country.
"Insect-borne diseases continue to be a constant threat to children in developing countries. Something as simple as a mosquito net can keep these children safe from malaria as well as less well-known diseases like chikungunya and dengue," said Charlie Mamrak, CEO of SeraCare. "In our work with diagnostics researchers, we think about the effects of these illnesses every day. I am extremely pleased to introduce this program and look forward to the positive impact it will have on the lives of children around the globe."
SeraCare provides a wide variety of disease positive materials to life science researchers as well as in vitro diagnostic assay developers and manufacturers. These products are available as individual disease specimens, panels of multiple donor samples, and controls for use throughout the testing process. A complete list of the products that are part of the Nets for Kids program is available at: www.seracare.com/netsforkids. The Nets for Kids program runs through December 31, 2014.
