Sentry Data Systems' 340B Audit Expertise Helps Phoenix Children's Hospital Successfully Complete HRSA Audit
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., July 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Sentry Data Systems announced today that Phoenix Children's Hospital, Arizona's only nationally recognized pediatric hospital, successfully navigated a recent HRSA audit of its 340B program with support from Sentry's team of compliance experts.
Travis Leonardi, CEO at Sentry Data Systems, remarked, "Phoenix Children's is nationally recognized as a leader in pediatric care. We're proud that our best-in-class suite of systems and services has enabled the Hospital to meet the 340B compliance requirements while continuing to expand their 340B program to benefit their community."
Phoenix Children's implemented Sentry's Sentinel solution seven years ago to manage and optimize compliance for their 340B program.
Positive experiences with Sentry's support for internal pharmacy operations gave Phoenix Children's the confidence to recently expand its 340B program to include contract pharmacies. They implemented the Sentrex system to manage compliance of their partner pharmacies. Since September 2016, the Hospital has already gone live with a contract pharmacy network in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
In December, the Hospital was randomly selected for a HRSA audit. The auditors were well-prepared, very thorough and challenged the team to answer the difficult questions routinely posed during a HRSA audit. The complex audit process required participation of managers and staff from numerous departments across the Hospital. Sentry conducted a pre-audit review to identify areas where Phoenix Children's may be out of compliance. According to Matthew Pharr, Manager of Pharmacy Business Services at Phoenix Children's, "Sentry identified a few opportunities prior to the audit, which helped ensure there were no unpleasant surprises for our hospital management during the audit."
Pharr further explained, "Sentry did a phenomenal job pulling the necessary data and answering all the auditors' questions." He added, "From the start, the auditors recognized Sentry's 340B management tools as tested, solid and proven, and their established reputation set the tone for a successful audit."
