Sentinel Capital Partners Acquires Mobile Communications America

NEW YORK, March 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Sentinel Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in promising companies at the lower end of the midmarket, today announced the acquisition of Mobile Communications America ("MCA"), a leading provider of communications solutions and services in North America and one of Motorola Solutions' largest channel partners. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina, MCA is a provider of communications and network solutions and services which enhance the safety, security, and operating efficiency of a diverse base of more than 10,000 customers. MCA's customer base includes public safety institutions and some of the largest, most well-known corporate clients in North America. MCA sells Land Mobile Radios and related network infrastructure products and offers services across all aspects of the communications solutions lifecycle, including system design, installation, and ongoing maintenance and repair. MCA focuses on the Southeast and enjoys regional density through 41 locations in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, with the capability of serving national commercial customers across the United States.

During the past year, Sentinel also completed four exits: CINgroup, a provider of innovative software and due diligence solutions to attorneys and their clients; Huddle House, a franchisor of family dining restaurants in the Southeast; Rotometrics, a global provider of high precision rotary cutting tool solutions; and WellSpring Consumer Healthcare, a North American marketer of OTC health brands.
