Sentara Healthcare Selects Mach7 for PACS Replacement
BURLINGTON, Vt., April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Mach7 Technologies Inc., a company specializing in innovative data management solutions for healthcare providers, announced today it has been contracted by Sentara Healthcare for its Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) modernization project.
Sentara Healthcare is looking to modernize their PACS through a reconstructed architecture that will utilize Mach7's Enterprise Imaging Platform, which was implemented as part of a previous contract, as well as Mach7 Diagnostic Studio and Client Outlook's eUnity diagnostic viewer. Sentara selected Mach7 after a tender process and exhaustive review of the industry's top PACS vendors. A major consideration for Sentara during the evaluation process was how vendor agnostic each solution is; Sentara determined the Mach7 solution to be the most capable in this regard, providing the greatest efficiency and scalability when integrated into their existing infrastructure.
Trent Conwell, IT Director of Sentara Healthcare, stated, "We are very excited to expand our partnership with Mach7. The PACS modernization project will eliminate seven existing radiology PACS systems across the Sentara enterprise, creating a substantial cost reduction while providing a significantly improved clinical experience, in major part due to having access to all studies across the system. We know Mach7 has state-of-the-art technology that provides the ability to access all imaging business lines within Sentara, but, it was the services offering that really put Mach7 over the top. Their understanding of the importance of Implementation Services, Training Services, and Support Services provides Sentara with an insurance policy that we think will allow for a successful implementation on an aggressive timeline."
In addition to the PACS modernization project, Sentara Healthcare, Mach7 Technologies, and Client Outlook, Inc. are jointly developing an "Imaging Innovations Lab" at Sentara in Virginia Beach. When complete, the Imaging Innovations Lab will be used to provide onsite training and demonstrations of the Mach7 solution to prospective new customers. Of the Innovations Lab, Conwell said, "The Sentara Innovations Imaging Lab, powered by Mach7 and Client Outlook, is a way to further define our partnership. This lab, located on the Sentara Campus, has been developed to provide interested organizations the opportunity to see the Mach7/Client Outlook solution first hand. It will be staffed by Sentara physicians, clinicians, and technology personnel to provide a comprehensive learning/evaluation experience."
Mike Lampron, Mach7 CEO, commented, "Mach7 is excited to have the opportunity to be part of Sentara Healthcare's PACS modernization project. Mach7's PACS product, including Client Outlook's eUnity diagnostic viewer, goes beyond a traditional PACS replacement by consolidating several disparate PACS systems into one imaging platform, proving again the power of PACS as a component of the overall Enterprise Imaging Strategy. I believe the Imaging Innovations Lab will be of considerable value to Mach7 by providing a live example of our PACS product that our prospective customers can leverage."
