Sensus Healthcare Installs an SRT-100™ at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center and Commences Collaborative Research Relationship
BOCA RATON, Fla., Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sensus Healthcare is pleased to announce that Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center has chosen the SRT-100™ advanced superficial radiotherapy platform (SRT) as the latest addition to its comprehensive radiotherapy solutions for cancer. Froedtert & The Medical College Cancer Center is the first cancer center in Wisconsin to offer this advanced, non-invasive radiotherapy solution to treat non-melanoma skin cancers.
The SRT-100™ technology is a compact, easily portable device that uses low-energy radiotherapy to concentrate the radiation dose on the skin surface, offering doctors an alternative to surgery for non-melanoma skin cancers.
"Our patient healing philosophy drives us to approach skin cancer in a multidisciplinary fashion – from diagnosis to therapy to cure. We approach each patient individually when treating their skin cancer by employing personally tailored protocols and treatment modalities to maximize clinical outcomes. The SRT-100™ expands our options of treatment modalities and augments our capabilities," said J. Frank Wilson, MD, director of adult cancer services for Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin and Chairman, Director Emeritus, Cancer Center, Bernard & Miriam Peck Family Professor of Radiation Oncology.
In addition, Sensus and Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin will enter into a collaborative research relationship through which they will pursue studying and discovering novel treatment methods for skin cancer.
"We understand and appreciate Dr. Wilson's long-time passion and dedication to a comprehensive approach in treating skin cancer," said Joe Sardano, President/CEO, Sensus Healthcare. "We are honored to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Wilson, Chief of Medical Physics Dr. Allen Li, and the entire staff of the Froedtert & The Medical College radiation oncology program as it provides Sensus with unique possibilities in furthering the capabilities of our technology and translating it to new areas of interest for the future treatment of skin cancers."
