SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Sensory, Inc., an innovating provider of technologies for a secure and superior user experience, today announced the immediate availability of its VoiceDial™ application for Android phones and tablets. VoiceDial uses Sensory's TrulyHandsfree™ technology to listen for voice trigger phrases and TrulyNatural™ technology to build and search the device's contact lists by voice. Every aspect of the VoiceDial app for Android has been designed to let users place calls easily without ever having to look at or touch their phone.
The user acquires the application's attention by saying the trigger phrase and then requesting a call to someone in the contact list, for example, "Hello Blue Genie, call John Smith." The app's speech recognition is speaker independent and requires no training, working exactly as it should immediately when downloaded and installed. The app is able to build and process large contact lists, and because the app processes the voice data on device, it responds nearly instantaneously to call requests. The key benefits to Sensory's technologies are their small footprint and ability to run entirely on the mobile device, without the delays of cloud processing, as experienced with many other voice search solutions.
VoiceDial has been thoughtfully developed to ensure a seamless, user-friendly experience by:
- Supporting natural language in order to work with a variety of name formats and call requests
- Supporting regional language models in order to predict the way the target user's demographic will pronounce international names
- Recognizing trigger words and speech in high-noise environments, allowing VoiceDial to work perfectly in situations where other systems fail
- Sensing when users are in the car and automatically launching so that the user doesn't need to remember to do this while driving
Sensory's new VoiceDial app is predictive, hands-free and eyes-free! Additionally, this new app includes the benefits of Sensory's award-winning speech recognition accuracy in real world noise, performing better than the natively equipped speech recognizer that comes equipped on select Android phones, even in very noisy environments.
"The technologies we create at Sensory are extremely versatile solutions that allow us and our licensees to develop practical applications that greatly improve the user-experience of mobile devices and other electronics," said Bill Teasley, VP of Engineering at Sensory. "VoiceDial is an exciting application that utilizes the robust capabilities of our recently announced TrulyNatural embedded large vocabulary voice recognition solution. We designed the application to be simple in its function yet advanced in its performance, while being able to respond completely free of any haptic input from the user. VoiceDial is just the tip of the iceberg. We are very excited about the numerous other features our TrulyNatural technology will soon provide, such as seamless hands-free control of music, calendar and navigation, just to name a few."
The US English version of the VoiceDial app is now available on the Google Play store. New languages targeting Asian and European countries will be released later this year. Sensory is presently working with OEMs to integrate TrulyNatural and TrulyHandsfree, the two technologies behind VoiceDial, within their product lines for seamless voice triggered hands-free command and control and large vocabulary speech recognition capable of supporting natural language.
