WASHINGTON, April 19, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Right Honourable The Baroness Cox of Queensbury, senior member of the British Parliament, who was recently in Aleppo meeting with aid organizations and political groups while the city was being bombed, will discuss her efforts to bring humanitarian relief to Syria at a National Press Club Newsmaker news conference at 10 a.m., May 9, in the club's Bloomberg Room. During her time in Syria, the Baroness met with civilians who had been attacked.
As a member of the House of Lords and as a Lecturer at the Royal College of Defence Studies, Baroness Cox was one of the first politicians to raise the issues of Radical Islamism and its terrorist threat long before 9/11. Lady Caroline, a 79-year-old grandmother, has literally dodged sniper fire, land mines and bombs to bring humanitarian aid to people cut off from humanitarian aid in Syria and elsewhere.
Earlier in her career, she served as a Baroness-in-Waiting to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She also worked closely with the late Diana, Princess of Wales at a children's charity.
The National Press Club is located on the 13th Floor of the National Press Building at 529 14th St., NW, Washington, D.C. This news conference is open to credentialed media and NPC members, free of charge.
