Senior Home Care's Corinne Sprain Named Top 10 Finalist Representing Florida for 2013 Home Care & Hospice Nurse of the Year
CLEARWATER, Fla., July 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior Home Care is pleased to announce that Corinne Sprain, a nurse with the company's Clearwater, Fla. home health care agency, has been named a Top 10 Finalist for the 2013 Home Care & Hospice Nurse of the Year Award presented by the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC).
Annually, NAHC promotes a nationwide recognition campaign that asks its members, affiliates and the public to help choose a top home care and hospice nurse from every state. NAHC recognizes nurses for providing exceptional care, reducing hospital readmissions and making a difference in patients' lives. A public vote determines the winning nurse from the top 10 finalists featured on their website. Online voting runs July 16 through August 13, 2013. Visit http://www.nahc.org/consumer-information/2013-nurse-of-the-year-nominees/ to review the finalists and cast a vote. The winner will be announced at the NAHC Annual Meeting & Exposition in October.
Senior Home Care nominated Sprain and she was selected by a committee of experts to represent Florida. According to NAHC, Sprain's entry has advanced and she is now "one of the top 10 finalists who inspire us most." A story about Sprain and her patient, Elizabeth Young, is featured on the NAHC web site's voting page and will be published in the next CARING magazine for nurses.
Robert Fusco, Chief Executive Officer at Senior Home Care, said he and the entire staff are proud of Sprain's achievement. "It's well deserved," he said. "Corinne is not only known for being a highly skilled nurse, she goes beyond to build patients up with the power of positivity. She's a humble and unsung hero, who quietly touches so many patients' lives."
A registered nurse, Sprain has been with Senior Home Care since 2007. She provides in-home medical treatment for patients throughout the Tampa Bay region. She has been recognized as a star clinician, having achieved certification as a home health specialist (OASIS) and a Wound Treatment Associate (WTA).
