BALTIMORE, July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior Helpers®, the nation's premier provider of in-home senior care, today announced the appointment of Michael Hughes to VP of Strategic Development. In this role, Hughes' primary responsibility will be to forge partnerships and alliances for Senior Helpers with health care systems, managed care organizations, Medicare Advantage programs, long term care companies, and other key healthcare partners, designed to promote Senior Helpers' critical role in the healthcare continuum.
"Michael comes to us with deep expertise in aging and healthcare technology, which makes him a great fit for our company," said Peter Ross, CEO and co-founder, Senior Helpers. "His experience will serve us very well as we look to create relationships with key healthcare organizations and providers that will integrate Senior Helpers' value proposition throughout their extensive networks."
Prior to joining the company, Hughes was principal at a strategic consultancy focusing on the intersection of aging, technology and health. He worked for nearly a decade with AARP—most recently serving as Director, Strategic Accounts & Program Innovation, where he developed innovative program offerings focused on health, wellness and caregiving, evaluating emerging trends and technologies, and building external partnerships. Earlier, Hughes helped to manage and scale the company's B2B membership program, and also led marketing/communications.
Over the years, Senior Helpers has been successful in addressing some of the most important challenges facing an aging society. The company was ranked in the 2018 Entrepreneur's Franchise 500 Ranking, and appointed to the Healthcare Leadership Council—an exclusive alliance of leading healthcare companies from all health sectors committed to advancing the American healthcare system.
