SendTek Announces G.hn Coaxial and Phoneline Gigabit Ethernet Bridge Powered by Marvell's G.hn Technology to Support Market Migration from HPNA to G.hn Installations for Home Networking
SendTek has selected Marvell's ITU-T compliant and HomeGrid Forum certified G.hn silicon to power four new products for smart home networking solutions over in-house coax and phoneline infrastructure
SANTA CLARA, Calif. and LONDON, April 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL) – a worldwide leader in providing complete silicon solutions from mobile communications to storage, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud infrastructure, digital entertainment, in-home content delivery and Kinoma® software enabling the "Smart Life and Smart Lifestyle" – today announced that SendTek has selected Marvell's 88LX3142 G.hn digital baseband processor and 88LX2718 G.hn analog front end for integration into SendTek Coax and Phoneline adapters.
"As consumer demand for 4K video applications inside the home increases, more bandwidth is required. To meet this need, Marvell's G.hn solution offers data rates up to 1Gbps over coaxial cable and phoneline," said Philip Poulidis, Vice President and General Manager, Mobile and Internet of Things Business Units at Marvell. "The collaboration between both companies leverages SendTek's experience with HPNA solutions to boost the offering of best performance systems for carriers that want to capitalize on their existing coaxial cable and phoneline infrastructure inside the home."
"We are very proud to announce our first G.hn products integrating Marvell's silicon," said Felix Jeng, President of SendTek. "As service providers are investigating innovative solutions to deploy their high speed home networking solutions, SendTek is ready to meet customer requirements with a portfolio of Gigabit home networking products."
"SendTek has always been an active member of the HomePNA Alliance and more recently of the HomeGrid Forum since the merger of the two organizations in May 2013," added Charles Wu, Operations Director of SendTek. "With this launch of our G.hn products, SendTek has achieved an important milestone supporting the smooth market migration from HPNA to G.hn installations aiming to lead the evolution of all home wireline networks to G.hn."
SendTek has announced four new designs based on Marvell G.hn silicon:
- G.hn Coax Gigabit Ethernet Bridge CES-832
- Wi-Fi G.hn Coax Gigabit Ethernet Bridge CES-832N
- G.hn Phoneline Gigabit Ethernet Bridge PES821
- Wi-Fi G.hn Phoneline Gigabit Ethernet Bridge PES-821N
SendTek's Coax Gigabit Ethernet Bridge CES-832 takes advantage of G.hn coax port to establish a robust home network backbone by using existing coaxial cables. Featuring two 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Ports and a built-in filter to avoid TV channels, CES-832 can seamlessly connect any Ethernet interface-based devices such as set-top boxes, camera servers and Ethernet switches, ensuring a reliable Gigabit performance for users to enjoy 4K video services.
G.hn Phoneline Gigabit Ethernet Bridge PES-821 is joining the product line of SendTek for advanced home networking applications, designed to enable service providers to upgrade their FTTH broadband and IPTV services, with minimum investment, by utilizing already deployed phoneline cables to deliver Gigabit content, which are supplied from the fiber access network from the carrier's central office (CO), to the inside of the home. SendTek's G.hn Phoneline Gigabit Ethernet Bridge PES-82x offers spectrum options to ensure G.hn coexistence with PSTN, HomePNA and xDSL services.
The G.hn Wi-Fi extenders, CES-832N and PES-821N, featuring MIMO 2x2 Wi-Fi IEEE802.11n, enable carriers to deliver rock-solid Wi-Fi services anywhere at home, and provide users with seamless access to next-generation broadband services.
Marvell G.hn enables fast and powerful connectivity at data rates up to 1 Gbit/s over standard home wiring, including electrical wires, coaxial cables, twisted pair phoneline and optical fiber, for the delivery of multimedia content to smart homes.
