SendGrid Expands its Participation in M3AAWG with Two Senior Leader Positions
New Board of Directors Vice Chair and Training Committee Co-Chair Demonstrate the Company's Deeper Commitment to the Anti-Abuse Community
DENVER, April 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- SendGrid, the leading delivery platform for customer communication that drives engagement and growth, today announced a deeper involvement in the Messaging, Malware and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG) with two SendGrid leaders taking on roles as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and a Training Committee Co-Chair.
Len Shneyder, SendGrid's Vice President of Industry Relations, has been elected as one of three Vice Chairs of the Board of Directors. In this role, Len will support the Chairman of the Board's efforts and focus on increasing awareness of sending best common practices and other anti-abuse recommendations between the marketing and the anti-abuse community. Kurt Diver, SendGrid's Manager of Delivery Consulting Services, was appointed as a Training Committee Co-Chair. Kurt's focus will be developing a new set of training programs for the community to help expand members' knowledge, skillsets and give them hands on applicable training to take learnings from M3AAWG into their jobs.
"It's an honor to serve as a Vice Chair at M3AAWG and give back to an organization that is committed to tackling abuse for the entire messaging ecosystem," said Len Shneyder, Vice President of Industry Relations at SendGrid. "The three Vice Chairs that were elected are a great representation of the many cross sections of the organization: Software and Service Provider, Hosting and Senders, that are a part of M3AAWG. I'm proud to continue SendGrid's ongoing and active participation in M3AAWG."
"As Training Committee Co-Chair, I'm thrilled to work toward the M3AAWG mission of educating members on how to mitigate issues related to online abuse and messaging," said Kurt Diver, Manager of Delivery Consulting Services at SendGrid. "The training sessions I'm working to develop with the other co-chairs will allow participants to choose courses that fit their needs and interests and bring key learnings back into their day-to-day lives and work while increasing the value of attending the thrice yearly meetings."
M3AAWG brings the technology industry together to work against bots, malware, spam, viruses, denial-of-service attacks and other online exploitation. M3AAWG members represent more than one billion mailboxes from some of the largest network operators worldwide. It leverages the depth and experience of its global membership to tackle abuse on existing networks and new emerging services through technology, collaboration and public policy. It also works to educate global policy makers on the technical and operational issues related to online abuse and messaging.
"We look forward to SendGrid's increased participation in M3AAWG as Len and Kurt take on these new roles. Committed volunteers are our most valuable assets in continuing to develop best practices for our fight against online abuse," said Jerry Upton, M3AAWG Executive Director.
