SendGrid Accelerates Growth Path with Opening of New Silicon Valley Office and Appointment of Craig Kaes as VP of Engineering
Former Cisco Senior Engineer to Lead Expanding SendGrid Team

The company also announced the appointment of Craig Kaes as Vice President of Engineering who will lead existing and new teams of engineers across SendGrid's offices.
SendGrid continues to grow at a rapid pace and is now sending more than 18 billion emails per month for an expanding base of customers which now includes Birchbox, CBS Interactive, Taco Bell and TheLadders. SendGrid's new office, located in Redwood City, features nearly 6,000 square feet of office space and will accommodate up to 40 employees. Recruiting is well under way and the majority of new hires will be software engineers and customer success managers. As VP of Engineering, Craig Kaes will be responsible for leading SendGrid's 100 person engineering and devops team to bring several in-flight email product offerings to market and developing new complementary solutions to offer customers. Craig will also take the lead on building out the team in Redwood City, adding close to 30 engineering positions in that office.
Before joining SendGrid, Craig was Senior Engineering Director for the Mobility group at Cisco, where he grew the engineering organization from a small co-located startup to a team of 130, spanning four sites in the US and India. In this role, he was responsible for software development, quality assurance and architecture. Prior to this, Craig was Senior Director, Platform Engineering for Cisco where he was responsible for Cisco's platform layer, which underpins Cisco's SaaS collaboration applications, including WebEx, Connect, Files, and Social. Previously, Craig moved quickly through the ranks at Jabber, where in three years he rose from technical lead to VP of Engineering, before the company was acquired by Cisco.
