Senator Leahy views advanced technology at UTC Aerospace Systems in Vermont
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) showcased its advanced defense technology to U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) today at its Sensors and Integrated Systems facility in Vergennes, Vermont. Senator Leahy viewed cutting-edge aerospace products, met with the company's leadership team, and addressed employees about the importance of high-tech jobs in the region and thanked them for their great work.

The facility in Vergennes employs more than 800 people in disciplines including engineering, operations, manufacturing, supply chain and administrative functions. Major products produced include helicopter health and usage management systems (HUMS), aircraft fuel measurement and management systems, and guidance, navigation and control systems. Senator Leahy's visit, part of his tour of several Addison County employers, coincided with UTC Aerospace Systems' annual Wellness Fair.
