WASHINGTON, March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, will talk about "An American Agenda" at a National Press Club Speakers Luncheon March 9.
Sanders, who is considering a bid for the Democratic 2016 presidential nomination, will address income inequality, jobs and global warming.
Sanders, the longest serving Independent member of Congress in American history and the ranking member on the Senate Banking Committee, is among the most vocal congressional opponents of excess corporate profits and tax avoidance. He previously led the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs and in 2014 pushed bipartisan legislation that aimed to cut waiting times at veterans' health facilities.
The Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session, ending at 2 p.m. Tickets may be purchase by going to the following link. The cost of luncheon admission is $23 for National Press Club members and $37 for non-members. Tickets must be purchased at time of reservation.
