Sen. Testin Spends the Day Working in the Hardhat Zone

The Senator had the opportunity to work a full day alongside Unimin employees. He worked in a number of capacities across the plant, and saw first-hand why Unimin is North America's leading industrial mineral producer.

"Not only do they supply more than 100 good-paying jobs right here in Tunnel City, they also uphold – and exceed - environmental standards, provide habitat for endangered species, and work with local governmental officials to keep the community up-to-date on developments. In the last four months, they've added – and filled - twenty-five jobs, and I can see why; it's a great place to work."

In recent years, Unimin has worked with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to become a part of its Green Tier Program. The company's participation is reflective of its commitment to the environment and to the communities its employees call home.
