Semiconductor Industry Association Applauds Senator Hatch, Reps. Lofgren and McCaul for Congressional Leadership
WASHINGTON, March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), representing U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing and design, today announced that the association has awarded Senator Hatch (R-UT) and Representatives Lofgren (D-CA) and McCaul (R-TX) with the 2011 SIA Congressional Leadership Award.

The 2011 SIA Congressional Leadership Award is awarded to Members of Congress that support the vision and mission of the semiconductor industry, which is to maintain U.S. leadership in semiconductor design and manufacturing. Representatives Zoe Lofgren and Michael McCaul have become top advocates for the technology industry and have led on important issues including; reauthorization of the America COMPETES Act, high-skilled immigration reform, STEM education funding and R&D Tax Credit reform. Additionally, Congressman McCaul is a founder and co-chairman of the House High-Tech Caucus. As the Chairman of the Senate Republican High Tech Task Force, Senator Hatch has made significant contributions to the technology industry and continues to serve as a champion for research and development tax reform.
