Durham Orthopaedic Surgeon to Serve Leading Foot and Ankle Society

ROSEMONT, Ill., Aug. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Selene G. Parekh, MD, MBA, of the North Carolina Orthopaedic Clinic of Duke Orthopaedics in Durham, N.C., has been named board member-at-large for the 2,027-member American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS). Parekh will focus his two-year term on supporting the educational and communications efforts of the Society, whose members specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system of the foot and ankle.

Parekh earned joint degrees in medicine and business in 1999 from Boston University, Boston. He performed his residency in orthopaedic surgery and completed his fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

In addition to serving on and chairing AOFAS committees, Parekh has presented at several AOFAS meetings and serves as a reviewer for the AOFAS journal Foot & Ankle International.
