Selective Insurance Group Announces Officer Appointments

BRANCHVILLE, N.J., May 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Selective Insurance Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIGI), announced the following appointments by its subsidiary, Selective Insurance Company of America:

John Bresney (Long Valley, NJ) to senior vice president, Application Delivery Services. Mr. Bresney joined Selective in 1994 as a management trainee and programmer.  He has held various positions throughout Selective's IT organization, most recently serving as vice president, Business Relationship Director for Personal Lines.  Mr. Bresney earned his B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA and holds an Associate Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

George Neale (Charlotte, NC) to senior vice president, Chief Claims Officer.  Mr. Neale joined Selective in April 2013.  Prior to that, he served as executive vice president, Chief Claims Officer for Commercial Insurance for Liberty Mutual. Mr. Neale earned his B.A. in Economics from Duke University in Durham, NC and attended the Wharton School for Insurance Executives at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

Joanne Dagostino (Hackettstown, NJ) to vice president, SIU, Recovery and Shared Services.  Ms. Dagostino joined Selective in 2001 as SIU manager and was promoted to assistant vice president in 2002.  She assumed responsibility for Recovery in 2011 and Claims Compliance in 2012. Ms. Dagostino earned her A.S. in Business Administration from the County College of Morris in Randolph, NJ, her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and holds the Senior Claim Law Associate designation.

Margaret Sherlock (Hawthorne, NJ) to vice president, Regional Director, Staff Counsel.  Ms. Sherlock joined Selective in 2005 as a managing attorney.  Prior to that, she was a managing attorney with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company.  Ms. Sherlock earned her B.A. in Psychology from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY and her Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law in New York, NY.  She is a member of the NJ State Bar Association, the NJ Defense Association and Master of the Justice Pashman Inns of Court.

Kelly Sims (Hainesport, NJ) to vice president, Field Operations Manager for Selective's New Jersey Region.  Mr. Sims joined Selective in 1996 as an underwriting trainee and has been working in Field Operations for the last 12 years, first as an agency management specialist and then as territory manager for the last eight years.  Mr. Sims earned a B.A. in Business Administration and an MBA in Risk Management from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  He holds the Certified Insurance Counselor designation.

John Willenborg (Sparta, NJ) to vice president, Field Operations Manager for Selective's Northeast Region.  Mr. Willenborg joined Selective in 1997 as an underwriting trainee and has held numerous positions within the organization including commercial lines underwriter, agency management specialist and most recently as territory manager in Selective's Southern Region.  Mr. Willenborg earned his B.S. in Marketing and Legal Studies from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY and holds an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. He holds designations as both a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and a Certified Insurance Counselor.

Michael Zondory (Advance, NC) to vice president, Property and Catastrophe Claims. Mr. Zondory joined Selective in 2011 as assistant vice president, Large Loss Property Claims.  Before that, he served as property general adjuster for the Hartford Insurance Company.  Mr. Zondory earned his B.S. in Healthcare Administration from Milligan College in Milligan, TN and holds the Property Claims Law Associate designation.

Shadi Albert (North Wales, PA) to assistant vice president, Reinsurance. Mr. Albert joined Selective in April 2013.  Prior to that, he served as assistant vice president at Towers Watson.  Mr. Albert earned his B.A. with dual majors in Finance and Risk Management from Temple University Fox School of Business in Philadelphia, PA and an MBA in Finance from Saint Joseph's University Haub School of Business in Philadelphia, PA.  He holds designations as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, an Associate in Reinsurance, and an Associate in Risk Management.
