Retailer Revs up Racing Season with Exclusive In-Store Events and Incredible Race Day Savings
SALINE, Mich., Aug. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As Michigan prepares for the upcoming Pure Michigan 400, select Walmart stores near the Michigan International Speedway will host exclusive NASCAR fan events through its new Race Time program starting Aug. 17. Customers are invited to attend these special events and enjoy real stock car racing displays and racing simulator machines – perfect to safely get behind the wheel and feel the power of NASCAR – Aug. 17-20 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
"We've found that nearly nine out of 10 NASCAR fans chose to shop at Walmart(i)," said Walmart market manager Shelly Lehman. "We wanted to provide Michigan race fans with unique Race Time experiences and unbelievable savings on NASCAR merchandise that you can only find at Walmart."

In addition to the fan events happening in Walmart parking lots and storefronts, Walmart stores will feature incredible prices on NASCAR merchandise during the racing season such as T-shirts, racing flags, and tailgating food and beverages with even more selection of exclusive product on Walmart.com/NASCAR.
Local radio station W4 102.9 will be at Walmart Store #1824 in Ypsilanti broadcasting remotely on Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
