Including Psalm 91, commonly referred to as the Warrior's Psalm
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Since its creation in 2008, the Military BibleStick has provided America's brave men and women in uniform with access to the complete New Testament in a rich, dramatized audio format. The device is especially impactful for the younger generation that relies heavily on audio and/or visual material when interacting with the world around them. Today, Faith Comes By Hearing – the ministry behind the project – is excited to announce that all future Military BibleSticks will also include 65 minutes of select Psalms. The chapters included were specifically selected to encourage, inspire and comfort our troops who have faced multiple deployments during more than a decade of war.

"The majority of the chapters chosen are Psalms of David," explains Troy Carl, vice president at Faith Comes By Hearing. "David was a warrior, a man familiar with battle and all the struggles and sacrifice that come with military service. He knew God's divine protection in times of peril and is someone that our troops today can definitely relate to."
The Military BibleStick project has provided more than 300,000 units – free of charge – to service members throughout every branch of the military. The BibleSticks are distributed by military chaplains who place their requests directly with the ministry. Over 1,250 chaplains have participated with the project so far. One chaplain has called the BibleStick 'a glorious invention', while others have dubbed the device as a 'God-pod' and even 'a chaplain in a box.'
"Often times our soldiers are in forward positions, without access to the spiritual advice and guidance provided by their chaplain," continues Carl. "The BibleStick – by providing God's Word in a spoken format – can help provide for their spiritual needs when they are in this very stressful and dangerous environment."
Faith Comes By Hearing continues to provide these portable Audio Bibles free of charge, with funding coming from generous individual donors, campaigns on Christian radio and TV, and the collective giving of thousands of churches nationwide that have supported this outreach. Participating churches span more than 100 denominations and many have presented the project and taken an offering on multiple occasions.
