ReVital, a new outpatient cancer rehabilitation program, is set to launch throughout SSM Health Physical Therapy's network of more than 60 locations in the St. Louis region this month. The Select Medical-owned program will provide comprehensive cancer rehabilitation services to people impacted by cancer and its treatment in order to restore their function and quality of life.

The ReVital program at SSM Health Physical Therapy will provide a distinctly comprehensive approach to cancer rehabilitation for the St. Louis community. The program draws on the collective expertise of a team of specialists including: physical, occupational, speech and cognitive therapists; psychologists; neuropsychologists; and other clinicians. ReVital therapists will provide patients with a customized treatment plan to meet each individual's needs.

The number of U.S. cancer survivors is expected to exceed 20 million by 2026, according to the American Cancer Society and National Cancer Institute. Evidence shows that more than 53 percent of adult cancer survivors experience at least one physical impairment caused by chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery. Pain, fatigue, lymphedema, balance issues, numbness and many other common side effects can be improved and managed by specially trained clinicians.

ReVital community education events will be held throughout the St. Louis region at the following dates, times and locations. These free sessions will provide cancer survivors and their families with more information about the ReVital program.
