LOS ANGELES, April 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sela Ward's Hope Village celebrates 10 years of caring for abused and neglected children at a celebrity gala this coming Saturday night, April 20 in Meridian, Mississippi at the MSU Riley Center. It is the largest fundraising event Sela has held for the organization, with a dinner, live auction and a live performance by LeAnn Rimes. She's tapped Gary Sinise, Brett Favre, Carmine Giovinazzo, Hill Harper, AJ Buckley, Robert Joy, Sam Haskel and Lance Bass to be on hand for the festivities.
Sela founded Hope Village for Children in 2002, in her hometown of Meridian, Mississippi, as a residential group home for abused and neglected children. It has an emergency shelter to serve those in danger and in need of immediate removal, as well as permanent group homes and transition houses. They serve more than 200 kids each year (so more than 2,000 to date) and truly change lives.
"The benefits of providing a continuum of care on one campus are crucial to breaking the effects of the negligence and abuse our children have experienced as well as the inconsistency in their education and social interactions," says actress Sela Ward, who's currently starring in the hit TV show CSI: NY. "Kids who have been removed from their homes need tremendous support which Hope Village provides."
Hope Village, a stable, loving place where children can live and grow without living in fear, provides the following services:
- Emergency Shelter
- Residential Group Home
- Transitional Program
- Foster Parent Recruitment and Training (coming soon)
