DALLAS, Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The holiday season can be a difficult time for families with chronically ill or hospitalized children. These families are not only trying to cope with the concern of having a sick child, but also with the financial and emotional burden as well. Children's Medical Center in Dallas hosts the annual Adopt a family Program to gather toys, games, clothes, and food for these families so they can focus their attention on the most important people in their lives; their children. Last year, Sekisui Specialty Chemicals Dallas adopted the family of a twenty month old baby girl who has been at the Children's Hospital for seven months battling heart and kidney failure.

Through the month of November, Sekisui Specialty Chemical employees donated gift cards and items from the family member's holiday wish list. Gifts included a fishing pole for the baby's father, new sneakers for her mother, and lots of new toys for her to play with while she is not in the hospital. The gifts were well received by the family, and they wrote a heartfelt thank you note to all the participants for making their holiday season a little bit brighter.
