The micromobility leader unveils upgraded third-generation models of its popular electric scooters at CES 2025 packed with industry-leading tech and performance.
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- CES 2025, Segway-Ninebot, recently named No. 1 in global electric kick-scooter (eKickScooter) sales with more than 13 million sold worldwide, today unveils its new third-generation eKickScooters. Segway is introducing seven new additions to its micromobility lineup ranging from entry-level commuters to high-performance superscooters.
"For more than 25 years, Segway has been making products that move people—and the industry—forward. We use sophisticated technologies to simplify and enhance our riders' journeys beyond limitations," said Wayde Zhao, president of Segway Inc. "I'm proud to introduce the next generation of our micromobility line that not only continues—but improves upon—that tradition. I can confidently say that these are the best scooters we have ever made. We invite you to 'ride better' than you thought possible."
The upgraded third-generation models feature cutting-edge technology, design, features and safety, highlighting the brand's commitment to remaining at the forefront of the personal transportation industry.
Building on Segway's already impressive suite of smart tech and safety features, new additions across the line include AirLock hands-free proximity unlocking, SegRide stability enhancement geometry, SegRange range optimization technology, Segway Dynamic Traction Control (SDTC), Segway Anti-Lock Braking System (S-ABS), automatic headlights, a smart, multi-function TFT display, an improved battery management system (BMS 2.0) and a new and improved Segway Mobility App (formerly the Segway-Ninebot app).
GT SERIES SUPERSCOOTERS Replacing the legendary GT2 and GT1, the all-new Segway GT3 Pro and GT3 SuperScooters epitomize performance. At the top of the lineup, the GT3 Pro leads the charge with acceleration of 0 to 30 mph in just 3.9 seconds in Ultra Boost Mode, a blistering top-speed of 49.7 miles per hour and a range of up to 86 miles on a single charge thanks to its 7,000-watt output (dual 3,500-watt motors) and 2,160Wh battery. That power is reined in by dual-piston, hydraulic disc brakes with slotted performance rotors and S-ABS. Two-wheel-drive and ground-hugging, dual coil-suspension featuring a front linkage with adjustable compression damping and a rear swingarm design keeps the ultrawide, 11-inch, self-healing tires planted.
Offering a thrilling ride at a more affordable price-point than its brawny sibling, the GT3 has a 2,400-watt motor capable of propelling it from 0 to 30 in 9 seconds and a top speed of 31 miles per hour. Its 899Wh battery is good for up to 45 miles of range. Stopping duties are handled by cable-actuated disc brakes, and dual front suspension smooths things out along with a trailing-arm rear suspension.
Multiple real-time smart functions including map navigation, speed, remaining range, ride stats, Bluetooth, incoming call notifications and more are displayed via a full-color, 2.4-inch TFT display that remains visible from different angles and even in direct sun on both models.
The GT3 retails for $1,699.99 and is available now for preorder at store.segway.com with $200 off for a limited time. The GT3 Pro will be available in Spring 2025.
MAX G3 FLAGSHIP The latest model in Segway's flagship G line, the all-new Ninebot Max G3, sets the standard for modern electric kick-scooters. If the GT SuperScooters are sports cars, the Max G3 is a premium luxury sedan replete with all the bells and whistles. Comfort and features are prioritized, but there's still plenty of horsepower under the hood. It outperforms its predecessor (the best-selling Max G2) with a greater max speed (28 miles per hour), longer range (50 miles) and a 0 to 15 mile-per-hour time of just 2.4 seconds.
The Max G3 boasts the smoothest ride in Segway's lineup thanks to dual hydraulic shock absorbers front and rear (two on each end) paired with the SegRide stability enhancement system. And topping up from empty only takes 3.5 hours thanks to FlashCharge technology.
The Max G3 shares Segway's most advanced multi-function TFT display, AirLock and Apple Find My capability with the GT Series. The Max G3 also features a 360-degree lighting system with underglow lighting and an automatic headlight that is three times brighter than before as well as automatic high/low beams.
The Ninebot Max G3 is the ultimate daily driver whether you're heading to work, school or there is no destination at all. Available in Spring 2025.
F & E SERIES COMMUTERS In addition, Segway is rolling out upgraded versions of its popular Ninebot F and E Series. The Ninebot F3 and F3 Pro, designed for comfortable commutes, feature front hydraulic and rear elastomer suspension, a larger footboard and SegRide stability enhancement. Both can cruise up to 20 miles per hour and for up to 44 miles before needing to plug in. The Ninebot E3 and E3 Pro are easy to take anywhere thanks to a lighter magnesium frame and convenient one-click foldability, feature 265 colors of ambient, underglow lighting as well as safety features like Segway's Traction Control System. Even at mid and entry-level pricing, signature Segway styling and build quality are evident in the F and E Series for a premium ride at affordable prices. The F3 and E3 series will be available Spring/Summer 2025.
UL MICROMOBILITY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATION Segway is also the first brand in the world to be issued the new Verified Micro Mobility Performance Mark (UL V Mark) for its eKickScooters by UL Solutions. The mark verifies that the products have undergone independent verification testing to ensure the performance claims are accurate. The first model to be verified globally is F3 Pro, verified for range, energy consumption and water resistance. The F3 is verified for range, energy consumption and water resistance. The Max G3 is verified for range, energy consumption, acceleration, charge time and water resistance. The E3 Pro and E3 are expected to soon be verified for range, energy consumption and water resistance.
