Seeds of Change® Offers $190,000 in Funding to Help Support School Gardens, Community Gardens and Farms
Organizations are encouraged to apply for one of several $20,000 and $10,000 grants
RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, Calif., March 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Seeds of Change®, maker of organically grown seeds and nutritious organic foods, is announcing the return of its annual Seeds of Change® Grant Program. Now through March 31, local schools, food and nutrition education programs and garden- or farm-related organizations can apply for funding to support new or existing sustainable initiatives. This year's program will offer $190,000 in grants to enhance the environmental, economic, and social well-being of gardens, farms, farmers and communities across the U.S. The grants will be broken up into two $20,000 grants and fifteen $10,000 grants. The grant program is funded by the brand's "1% Fund," the company's commitment to donate one percent of its global net sales to community-based nutrition, gardening and farming programs.
"At Seeds of Change we are passionate about connecting people to their food sources while promoting sustainable food practices. Without local gardens and farms, people can lose sight of how the foods they love make the journey from being a seed to an ingredient on their plate," said Tim Snyder Vice President of Sales and Marketing, for Seeds of Change. "At Seeds of Change, we're passionate about growing deliciously good food, and want to encourage more people to learn about the foods they love and how they're grown. We created this grant program as a way to support those organizations that are helping to grow healthier, more sustainable communities."
