Securus, Inc. to Sponsor PERS Summit for Second Consecutive Year
Company to Showcase New eResponder and eCare+Voice Technology at Premier Industry Event
CARY, N.C., July 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Securus, Inc., maker of a groundbreaking line of personal and enterprise mobile safety and security products, announced today that the company will again sponsor the Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) Summit, which will be held September 10-12, 2013, at the Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah. Hosted by AvantGuard Monitoring Centers, the summit is a must-attend event for industry leaders, providing an opportunity to gain insights into market trends, see new product demonstrations and make valuable contacts.
"Our eResponder and eCare+Voice mobile PERS products can help senior citizens and people with special needs remain independent by giving them a way to get help if they need it, wherever they are," said Christopher D. Newton, Securus President and CEO. "With these solutions, users are no longer tethered to their homes by speaker or landline-based emergency assistance systems. We're excited about sharing the possibilities this new technology creates at the PERS Summit."
The Securus team will showcase the company's latest innovation, the eResponder, which is a tiny, waterproof, wearable cell phone that connects users with a care center professional from anywhere with GSM cellular service. The device weighs in at just over an ounce, making it truly wearable, and the waterproof construction of the eResponder device allows it to be worn anywhere, even in the shower. eResponder can operate for up to two months on a single battery charge, meaning users only have to recharge it six times a year.
Another feature that sets the eResponder apart is its excellent sound quality, which gives users the ability to communicate clearly with care center professionals from virtually anywhere. Standard base-station medical alert systems only work within a limited range, and landline-based systems require users to stay at home or risk losing the ability to instantly summon help. eResponder gives users more freedom of movement while giving caregivers peace of mind.
"We are very excited that Securus is sponsoring this event for the second consecutive year," said Josh Garner, President of AvantGuard Monitoring Centers. "They always bring tremendous value and insight into the mobile PERS space."
Securus will also showcase its upgraded eCare+Voice device, which now features enhanced user locator functions that are integrated with the emergency care center, allowing care center personnel to quickly pinpoint the eCare+Voice user's location via GPS. Securus has also launched an Android app to support the eCare+Voice product. eCare+Voice allows seniors and people with special needs to call for help anytime, anywhere without a landline phone connection. An emergency SOS button quickly connects the user with the emergency care center via two-way voice, where specialists can speak with and track the user, dispatch local EMS and relay critical medical information to first responders. Caregivers can locate the eCare+Voice user anytime on the web with the free mobile application or by sending a text message.
