SecureCRT 8.1 and SecureFX 8.1 from VanDyke Software Improve System Administrator Productivity with New Ways to Organize and View Sessions
Latest releases feature an updated UI on Mac and Linux Platforms, SecureCRT tab groups and hex view, and SecureFX synchronized file browsing
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Jan. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- VanDyke Software®, a developer of multi-platform secure terminal emulation and secure file transfer software, today announced the official releases of SecureCRT® 8.1 SSH client and SecureFX® 8.1 secure file transfer client for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
SecureCRT 8.1 extends tab groups to Mac and Linux versions, which makes it easy to compare the output of two sessions, group related sessions, and switch between groups. "This addition for tab groups is very thoughtful and helps a network engineer like me who deals with various routing/switching devices with different OSs and roles in the network," said Dhrumil Prajapati, a network engineer at SysNetwork, Inc. "There are many instances where I have to issue simultaneous commands to same-type/group devices and this functionality is one of the best."
Also new for SecureCRT 8.1 are a hex view for debugging serial communication, new Command window options to send commands to tab groups or visible sessions, and the ability to add keywords using the right-click menu.
SecureFX 8.1 introduces synchronized file browsing for lockstep navigation of local and remote folders that have the same directory structure. "I use SecureFX to synchronize files from my desktop and laptop to a dedicated, remotely hosted server," said Phil Stone, an IT consultant. "The synchronized file browsing in SecureFX is a great time- and energy- saving feature which allows me to synchronize files in a quicker and more intuitive manner." Also new is server-to-server synchronization, which makes it easier to roll out changes to a production server, to do backups, and to do replication.
For Mac and Linux platforms, SecureCRT and SecureFX 8.1 also feature a new main toolbar and improved smart card (PIV/CAC) support.
