SecureCRT 8.1 and SecureFX 8.1 Beta Releases from VanDyke Software Bring Updated UI to Mac and Linux Platforms and Improve Productivity with New Ways to Organize and View Sessions
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Oct. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- VanDyke Software®, a developer of multi-platform secure terminal emulation and secure file transfer software, today announced the beta releases of SecureCRT® 8.1 and SecureFX® 8.1.
SecureCRT and SecureFX 8.1 (beta) introduce a new main toolbar for Mac and Linux platforms. Mac and Linux versions also have improved smart card (PIV/CAC) support.
SecureCRT 8.1 brings tab groups to Mac and Linux versions (previously only available for Windows), making it easy to compare the output of two sessions, group related sessions, and switch easily between groups. "Tab groups give system administrators another tool to save time when working with multiple sessions," said Maureen Jett, Product Director for SecureCRT. "The new feature makes it easy to quickly switch between sessions. You can also create a temporary tab group so you can work in one tab while monitoring command output from another tab."
Also new for SecureCRT 8.1 are a hex view for debugging serial communication, new Command window options to send commands to tab groups or visible sessions, and the ability to add keywords using the right-click menu.
SecureFX 8.1 introduces synchronized file browsing for lockstep navigation of local and remote folders that have the same directory structure. Server-to-server synchronization makes it easier to roll out changes to a production server, to do backups, and to do replication.
