CHICAGO, Aug. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ICAP Patent Brokerage, a division of ICAP plc and the world's largest intellectual property and patent auction firm today announced that it will offer two unique Covenants Not to Sue (CNS) from Secure Axcess, LLC, at its upcoming CNS Auction September 27, 2011 in Los Angeles. Each CNS covers U.S. patents 7,631,191 and 7,203,838. The patents covered by each CNS disclose technologies related to computer security and web-page authentication. In one embodiment, Secure Axcess' technologies allow banks to provide assurance to their customers that the customer is providing its confidential, financial information to the banks' online system rather than a hacker's system. These technologies provide additional protection for bank customers against "phishing" attacks.

One CNS will be offered to certain banks based upon their size. The second CNS will be offered to certain non-bank companies who serve as technology vendors to banks. This second CNS will provide protection to both the vendor and its bank customers who qualify for the protection of the CNS.
A CNS is an agreement that prevents assertion of a party's right to litigation. A company entering into a CNS with respect to Secure Axcess, LLC's patents would gain the freedom to operate under them, and would avoid the uncertainty inherent in patent infringement litigation.
According to Kevin Fiur, ICAP Patent Brokerage's Senior Vice President, "It is very exciting to see the rapid market adoption of our covenant not to sue program. With the addition of Nix Patterson and Secure Axcess to our September 27 covenant only auction, we now have over 20 sellers and more than 30 different types of covenants for sale to hundreds of actual and potential litigants in the IP marketplace. We are witnessing a dynamic shift in the way parties assess and resolve their IP disputes using a format that directly benefits all the people with a true stake in the outcome."
Starting today, ICAP Patent Brokerage will accept anonymous bids on the Secure Axcess, LLC CNS. To learn more about the assets available or to place a bid, contact Kevin Fiur at [email protected] or (512) 505-2308.
