The group will utilize Sectra PACS for image review and interpretation, and the BelleBridge telemedicine cart will provide the platform for real-time virtual visits and live ultrasound streaming to off-site breast imagers. "Breast radiologists can view images while speaking directly to the administering technologist and patient," says BelleBridge Chief Operating Officer, Elmar A. Davé.
"While it is acceptable for screening examinations to be performed with standardized protocols and batch-interpreted by breast imagers, processes must be in place for direct patient management during diagnostic studies with face-to-face collaboration between breast radiologists and mammography or ultrasound technologists at an imaging facility," says Dr. László Tabár, one of BelleBridge's founders.
Through real-time audio/video connections with each client site, BelleBridge breast-specialized radiologists have active collaboration with facility technologist staff to manage diagnostic studies.
Through true multi-modality software and hanging protocols, Sectra PACS displays breast images from any modality side-by-side with digital mammograms. Together with integrated CAD, breast density assessment and reporting, as well as breast tomosynthesis capabilities, a highly efficient reading environment is created. "BelleBridge represents a very innovative delivery model for providing excellence in breast health, and combined with Sectra's experience in breast imaging and cloud-based solutions, provides the perfect telemedicine complement," says Mikael Anden, president of Sectra, North America.
For two consecutive years, Sectra PACS has been awarded "Best in KLAS" among hospitals over 200 beds. This year, also winning "Category Leader" for Community PACS (hospitals under 200 beds) and Ambulatory PACS (imaging centers and radiology groups) gives Sectra the distinction to have swept all the PACS honors in the U.S. market. Sectra was also named "Best in KLAS" for Global PACS (hospitals outside of the United States).
