Secretary of Defense Ash Carter to Speak at Luncheon, Sept. 15

WASHINGTON, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Secretary of Defense Ash Carter will discuss issues including the latest developments in the fight against the Islamic State at a National Press Club luncheon on Thursday, September 15. During his confirmation hearing in 2015, Secretary Carter said that the U.S. military in the Middle East must ensure a "lasting defeat" of ISIS. He's also advocated supporting Ukraine's battle against Russia-backed separatists.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with remarks beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $24 for Press Club members (NPC Members may purchase 2 tickets at this rate) and $38 for all other non-member tickets.  Tickets may be purchased online by going to the following link.  For questions, please email [email protected] or call (202) 662-7501.
