Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross to Join MBDA and NMSDC for 2017 National MED Week and NMSDC Business Conference in Detroit
WASHINGTON, Oct. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) today announced that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross will participate in the 2017 National Minority Enterprise Development Week celebration and National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in Detroit. Secretary Ross will provide remarks during the keynote luncheon today at the Cobo Center in Detroit.
National MED Week is an annual week-long observance led by MBDA that honors the outstanding achievements and leadership of minority-owned firms, organizations and advocates from across the Nation. This year, President Donald J. Trump proclaimed National MED Week October 22-28.
MBDA will host their 35th annual National MED Week in conjunction with the 2017 NMSDC Conference and Business Opportunity Exchange in Detroit. The conference and business exchange provides a platform for attendees to network and exchange information, tools and resources to grow and scale their businesses locally and globally with a specific focus on minority supplier development.
This year, MBDA Acting National Director Christopher Garcia will recognize the 2017 MED Week Award Winners during the NMSDC Power Breakfast today.
