Second Wind Celebrates, Collaborates at Annual AWEA Wind Resource and Project Energy Assessment Workshop
Workshop gathers wind experts for lively discussions about current wind assessment techniques and the future of wind data analysis
SOMERVILLE, Mass., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- At the annual AWEA Wind Resource & Project Energy Assessment Workshop in Oklahoma City next week Second Wind, a developer of wind measurement systems, plans to celebrate with customers, colleagues and other wind experts as it takes its 30th birthday celebration on the road. The annual workshop is known to wind insiders as the place to gather for the latest discoveries about wind resource assessment, technology and what's in store for the future.
Second Wind marked 30 years in business last month with an event in its hometown of Somerville, Mass. outside of Boston but is eager to share this important milestone at the popular AWEA workshop.

In addition to its 30th anniversary celebration Second Wind founding partner Ken Cohn will participate on a panel entitled, "New Frontiers: Remote Sensing Using SODAR and LIDAR." Cohn joins other wind experts to discuss the role remote sensing plays in wind resource assessment and wind farm design. The panel will also offer attendees ideas for cost-effective use of remote sensing in today's wind farm projects. Second Wind will also be demonstrating with its partner Mistaya Engineering the integration of Mistaya's Windographer Version 2.1 analysis software and Second Wind's wind data collection technology. Announced in June of this year the partnership enables users to export Triton and Nomad data directly to Windographer, with no custom coding or formatting. Together, the products provide energy companies with a seamless data collection and analysis solution.

- Automatic recognition of Triton turbulence data;
- The ability to process vertical wind speeds and calculate inflow angle;
- A new data recovery analysis window that plots the data recovery rate versus height, time of day, temperature, vertical wind speed, and lots of other factors.
