Second Time Around Opens Fourth New York City Boutique in Chelsea

BOSTON, March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- This spring, the upscale consignment brand Second Time Around, is opening its fourth New York City location at 94 Seventh Avenue in the Chelsea neighborhood. Based in New England, Second Time Around (STA) is a high-end consignment company that carries new and almost-new designer clothing and accessories. Since opening its flagship Massachusetts shop in 1973, the budget-friendly fashion empire has grown to include 23 stores in some of the country's hippest shopping districts.

Second Time Around carries the most coveted and current designer pieces that are always seasonal and on trend — clothing, scarves, fine and costume jewelry, handbags, belts, shoes, sunglasses, and more.  With 50,000 active consigners and a constant influx of new merchandise, the boutique's inventory changes hourly so Second Time Around promises to never be the same place twice.  

Following the opening of the Chelsea store, Second Time Around will open its first boutique in Englewood, New Jersey this season. The Chelsea and Englewood stores will join its sister locations in the region at New York City's 262 Mott Street, 111 Thompson Street and 1040 Lexington Avenue.

To consign items, clients call a STA location near them and schedule an appointment with an in-store fashioniSTA. The client and STA employee go over each piece of consigned clothing, one by one. Items are priced at 65%-70% of their original retail value and are placed on sale for a 90-day period, wherein consigners receive 40% of the final selling price. Articles of clothing must be of a current style, seasonally appropriate and generally no older than two years. In addition articles should be in new or like-new condition and freshly dry-cleaned or laundered.

In addition to consignment, Second Time Around will carry their recently launched Back To Basics collection of affordable and chic, form-fitting cotton knitwear that compliments any consigned look purchased in-store. The collection includes long camisoles, ribbed racer-back tank tops, long sleeve and short sleeve v-neck and crew neck shirts and leggings. All tanks and shirts are available in black and white and range in price from $8 – $12.

Back to Basics also includes a jewelry collection that is on-trend and seasonal. From boho-chic bead and leather cord bracelets to chunky metallic chain link necklaces and vintage, Mad Men-inspired studded jewel earrings, the line will compliment and complete a Second Time Around consignment experience. All jewelry will range in price from $6 – $50.
