Second Annual Lamb Jam Unites Pacific Northwest Chefs
DENVER, Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- At the second annual American Lamb Jam on Sunday, October 24, at the Bell Harbor Conference Center, the American Lamb Board partnered with local lamb producers to bring lambtastic fall flavors to the table. Twenty one Seattle chefs celebrated their love of lamb as they competed for top honors and created succulent selections paired with local Washington wines.
"Seattle is home to so many talented chefs and we were thrilled to see the creativity that went into each flavor-packed American lamb dish," said Megan Wortman, Executive Director, American Lamb Board. Guests at the American Lamb Jam enjoyed tastes from competing chefs, who received the following accolades:
- Best of Show / First Place Shoulder – Copperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook Lodge for the Grilled lamb shoulder confit with creamy parsnips and preserved huckleberries.
- First Place Leg – The Georgian Room for the Pepper and lovage crusted smoked leg of lamb kebob with tomato basil crostini.
- First Place Shank – BOKA Kitchen + Bar for the Lamb shank sloppy joe.
- People's Choice / First Place Loin – Barking Frog for the Northwest chanterelle and lamb loin prosciutto pot pie with sous vide lamb loin and fig demi.
Chef Mark Bodinet from Copperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook Lodge will take his "Best of Show" win to New York City with the American Lamb Board in 2011, when he will battle winning chefs from around the country in a master Lamb Jam competition.
