Seating 40,000 in Orange County This Holiday Season
CYPRESS, Calif., Nov. 29, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The holiday season conjures many sensations in our minds such as the smell of fresh pumpkin pie and roast turkey, the warmth of fires and hot apple cider, and the love of family and friends. There are so many gifts to shop for, events to plan, vacations to enjoy, and hopefully relaxation to reap the benefits of on all of our calendars. Yet as we fight traffic to ensure the perfect memories this season, we are so engulfed by the hustle and bustle that we do not have time to notice the lonely individual begging at the end of our freeway exit or holding a filthy sign on the corner by the gas station. No matter the city, the exit, or the corner, each is saying the same thing: help!

Put yourself in their shoes for a moment. It's not a pair you like standing in for long, is it? How often have we avoided eye contact with these members of our community as we wait for the light to change? Intentionally looking at any and every thing else, all the while knowing we have the ability to help them, but for whatever reason are deciding not to. During this season there is no sensational smell they salivate over, no delicious dinner to attend, and color and warmth are mere luxurious dreams they cling to as the winter months trudge by. What is the most wonderful time of the year for some can be the most miserable for many, and due to the economic state of this country, that number is growing exponentially. The Never Forgotten Foundation does not believe this has to be so, and neither should you.
Mother Teresa once proclaimed, "Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat." Her words echoed through eras, were written on walls, and bellowed on blogs in a journey to reach the optimistic souls of a new generation of philanthropists and world changers.
The Never Forgotten Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of this new generation of individuals and was founded by Steven Bryson in 2008. With a mission to bring aid to the impoverished people within our community, throughout our country, and around our world, the Never Forgotten Foundation will never stray from what fuels a philanthropists heart: never forgetting others.
As an organization with a history of exceeding our own expectations, this holiday season is no exception. We aim to surpass last year's donation of over 20,000 meals to Long Beach Rescue Mission by donating more than 40,000 meals to multiple Southern California charities this holiday season.
This act of giving is becoming an exciting part of our holiday tradition. If you would like to make it part of yours, please visit www.neverforgottenfoundation.com/site/donate/
