Sears Gives Thanks to Military Service People and Encourages Participation in its Heroes At Home Program
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Sears Heroes at Home, along with Rebuilding Together, continue their commitment to recognizing the contributions of military service people and their families by honoring service men and women of Puerto Rico. As part of their shared goal of completing over 750 rebuilding projects by the end of 2010, Sears and Rebuilding Together are proud to renovate Staff Sergeant Angel L. Dumont's family home in Juncos, PR.
Sears' long-standing tradition of supporting military families has inspired charitable donations that have raised over $9 million for the Heroes at Home program which rehabilitates the homes of active military personnel and veterans. Donations can be made both in store and online at Sears.com/heroesathome.
"Sears is proud to honor Staff Sergeant Angel Dumont for his years of service in the Army National Guard including tours in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. We recognize that Mr. Dumont is an example of the vast contributions that the people of Puerto Rico have made through their military service," said Kevin R. Carr, President of Sears Holding, Puerto Rico. "Our Heroes at Home program works jointly with our friends at Rebuilding Together to improve the lives of military service men and women as a way of giving our heartfelt thanks to them and to their families."
Sears and Rebuilding Together recognize the contributions of active service people and veterans in Puerto Rico and are committed to giving back to the military community in Puerto Rico.
