Applications Now Open for Kids at Play Interactive (KAPi) Awards, Last Gadget Standing and Young Innovators to Watch
Winners to be Honored at Ceremonies During CES 2018 in Las Vegas
NEW YORK, Sept. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Bring us your techy playthings, your cool gadgets and your whip-smart youngsters. Every year at CES, Living in Digital Times recognizes the best and the brightest in a series of awards. Today, they announce that applications are now being accepted for the 9th annual Kids at Play Interactive (KAPi) Awards, 17th annual Last Gadget Standing competition and 3rd annual Young Innovators to Watch Awards.
The KAPi Awards, which are presented in partnership with Children's Technology Review, are the culmination of the Kids@Play Summit, a half-day conference and four-day Kids & Technology Marketplace at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. The awards recognize children's technology products and industry pioneers that have raised the bar for innovation and excellence in the previous year. The KAPi Awards are judged by a distinguished panel of judges from all areas of children's media.
Last Gadget Standing brings together hopeful tech innovators and a rowdy audience for one of the most anticipated events of CES. Products entered into the competition reach an international community of expert judges, tech journalists, potential partners, and investors and technophiles, who are some of the biggest names in their fields. In addition to the judges, an online audience makes their voices heard by voting for the products they believe will endure the test of time. Ten finalists ultimately compete in a lively pitch presentation in front of an audience during CES 2018. The audience ultimately chooses the winner with the volume of their cheering, measured via Applause-o-meter.
David Pogue, founder of Yahoo! Tech, returns for a third year to keep the contestants and audience on their toes.
Young Innovators to Watch provides scholarships and prizes to accomplished young creators ages 13-20, thanks to support from sponsors like Lenovo. The innovative projects, which range from mobile apps to robotics and hardware design, are judged by tech industry leaders who look for exceptional creativity, user design, technical expertise and scalability. A ceremony honoring the winners will follow the Last Gadget Standing event at CES 2018.

Who Should Enter: Innovative makers of children's tech and toys. Products must have a copyright date in 2017 and be available by November for testing. KAPi also recognizes two individuals as a part of the awards: one pioneer in the field of children's interactive media and one budding newcomer who has made a significant contribution over the past year. Now in its 17th year, Last Gadget Standing is the longest running contest at CES, identifying the next big things in tech products.
Who Should Enter: CES exhibitors and innovators with awesome gadgets that are destined to be the next big thing. Ten finalists are selected by a panel of expert judges and will be invited to CES for a live competition to demo their gadgets. Products should be new – not older than 2017, and must be shipping by Q2 of 2018. Winners will be chosen by audience vote online and at the live event. Apply here.

Young Innovators to Watch celebrates some of the youngest and brightest minds that the tech industry should keep an eye on.
Who Should Enter: Individuals or small teams, ages 13 to 20, that have created an innovative tech project. All work must be original and may have been developed through school, extracurricular, or outside-of-school activities, including hackathons, community events, consulting projects or entrepreneurial activities.
