Doherty, a 35-year veteran of the U.S. Customs Service & Border Protection and a C-TPAT expert, has joined BSI's Supply Chain Security Solutions Group as an Advisory Services Executive.

Doherty was a key contributor in the development of the Customs-Trade Partnerships Against Terrorism Program (C-TPAT) program. As the C-TPAT Acting Director in Washington, DC, Doherty was responsible for managing the C-TPAT program on a national level, coordinating the activities of seven field offices and more than 160 personnel.
Prior to serving as C-TPAT Acting Director, Doherty was the principal field manager for the C-TPAT program in the U.S. Customs Service's New York field office During his tenure, the New York office certified approximately 2,500 companies for C-TPAT and conducted approximately 5,000 (re)validations.
