Seabrook House Co-Sponsoring Queer and Sober Event During Gay Pride Weekend in NYC
BRIDGETON, N.J., June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Seabrook House, an internationally-recognized addiction treatment center, is proud to co-sponsor NYC Queer and Sober 2012 as part of Gay Pride Weekend, being held in New York City June 22 to June 24.
The mission of Queer and Sober is to provide a safe, fun experience to the sober lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community during Gay Pride weekend and other events throughout the year. It offers support in sobriety and shows others – especially those in early recovery – that it's possible to have a great time without drugs or alcohol.
"We enthusiastically support Queer and Sober NYC," said Matthew J. Wolf, vice president of business operations at Seabrook House. "A sober environment is important during a time that could be filled with triggers, and we want to do all we can to support those in all phases of recovery while also having a lot of fun."
Seabrook House's sponsorship of Queer and Sober NYC is part of its growing presence in New York City. Earlier this year a regional office opened at 27 W. 20th St., Suite 405 in Chelsea for alumni meetings, given that a large percentage of Seabrook's patients come from the New York City area.
Seabrook House staff will be manning information tables at the Love Ball from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, June 22 at The Sky Deck at Novotel at 226 W. 52nd Street at Broadway; the Park Social from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at Clinton Cove Park at 55th Street and the Hudson River; and at the Mr. Sobriety Show from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 at SVA Theater, 333. W. 23rd St.
