SDE National Power-Up! Pre-Conference Serves Up Technology Integration as a Natural Part of Learning
PETERBOROUGH, N.H., April 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Staff Development for Educators (SDE), one of the nation's leading providers of professional development for K-12 educators, is pleased to announce its annual Power-Up: Integrating Technology into Today's Classrooms technology pre-conference for educators, taking place July 15, 2013 in Las Vegas.
The pre-conference, now in its third year, is a one-day professional development event that teaches educators how to integrate classroom technology into their instruction in order to engage today's tech-savvy students in more meaningful learning.
Educators at all levels of technological know-how are invited to the event, where the learning is easily comprehendible, always relevant, and never intimidating.
Conference sessions will take educators well beyond the whistles and bells of technological teaching aids to discover how technology can be a natural part of learning. Conference-goers will leave with the strategies and inspiration they need to make it happen in their own classrooms and schools.
"SDE wants to help educators understand that by integrating technology into what they are already doing in their classrooms, they're not adding complexity to their instruction, they're actually making it more accessible, more meaningful, more fun, and on the whole more successful," explains event programmer Amy Werninger.
"Technology, when it's embraced and effectively integrated into instruction, is one of the hallmarks of an extraordinary 21st century classroom," she adds. "Children at all levels are engaged and motivated by the hands-on, interactive aspects of learning with technology."
This year's event will kick off with a keynote from Ian Jukes, a well-known, energetic, and enthusiastic educator with a strong passion for successful student learning. Jukes is the author of twelve books, nine educational series, and more than 100 published articles.
The pre-conference will also feature Kathy Schrock, an educational technology guru who created her first website in 1995, and who has ardently kept current with the evolving world of classroom technology ever since.
Other featured presenters include teacher favorite Lori Elliott, aka "The Accidental Techie", social media luminary Matt Gomez, and #EdChat co-founder Shelly Sanchez-Terrell.
