University Ensures Veteran Students Have The Opportunity To Pursue A Post Graduate Degree In Integrated Healthcare
Whittier, Calif., May 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU), the nation's leading post-graduate college for chiropractic, acupuncture and oriental medicine, reaffirms its commitment to supporting students that are veterans in service to our country. SCU has announced its involvement in several government-sponsored programs to repay veterans for their service and sacrifice and to help ensure their opportunity to receive a valuable education in a variety of disciplines of integrated healthcare.
SCU supports student veterans through its participation in several successful programs sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs such as the G.I. Bill, Post 9/11 G.I. Bill, and the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students that are enrolled from (August 1, 2013 - July 31, 2014), Post-9/11 G.I. Bill (Chapter 33), are eligible to receive up to $19,198.31 per academic year (the national maximum).
Through its voluntary Yellow Ribbon Program participation, SCU also provides 7 veteran students with a debt-free education each academic year. SCU also covers 100% of the excess cost of any eligible student's education not covered outright by the G.I. Bill and/or Yellow Ribbon Program.
"Legions of our veterans have made tremendous sacrifices to serve our nation and upon their discharge, they must be afforded tools and resources to obtain a quality higher education," SCU President Dr. John Scaringe. "Our participation with the VA and involvement in programs such as Yellow Ribbon will continue to ensure that veteran-students will have the ability to pursue an education at SCU to become successful integrated healthcare practitioners. For any tuition charges that exceed the $19,198, SCU and the Veterans Administration will cover all costs, as a benefit to veteran-students. Providing the best educational experience is always a priority and SCU remains committed to providing the resources and support necessary to help each student navigate a successful career path. We invite interested veterans to explore the many options we offer."
