December 10 Doubleheader Will Partner with Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund to Support Education of Families of September 11 Victims
NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Scout Sports Marketing & Entertainment, a division of Horizon Media, announced today that GEICO has been named the presenting sponsor of its inaugural Never Forget Tribute Classic, an annual NCAA men's basketball doubleheader taking place on December 10, 2016 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The event will feature 2016 NCAA Men's Champion Villanova vs. Notre Dame at 12 p.m. on CBS Sports, followed by Pitt vs. Penn State on CBS Sports Network at approximately 3 p.m. The event has been created in partnership with the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, which helps support the education of children of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

As the presenting sponsor, GEICO receives category exclusivity, on-court and in-arena branding, on-site marketing activation and marketing assets across all event channels. Per the agreement, GEICO will also receive multiple television spots during the CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network broadcasts of the doubleheader.
Established within one week of September 11, 2001, the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund provides postsecondary education assistance for financially needy dependents of the people killed or permanently disabled in the terrorist attacks. The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund has already delivered millions of dollars in scholarship support, and will continue to offer education assistance through the year 2030, ultimately delivering more than $100 million to affected family members.
