Wildlife Rescue Center Will Benefit from Busch Stadium Squirrel Relocation

MARYSVILLE, Ohio, Oct. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Scotts Company teamed with the St. Louis Cardinals to support the Rally Squirrel's future home at the Wildlife Rescue Center.

Scotts, the Official Lawn Care Company of the St. Louis Cardinals, has a proud history of partnering with the Cardinals Head Groundskeeper, Bill Findley. The Busch Stadium field is widely considered one of the best in baseball -- a quality that may have attracted the Rally Squirrel in the first place.

Though the Rally Squirrel's impromptu mid-game performances have entertained Cardinals fans this post-season, the team has helped to relocate some of his entourage to the Wildlife Rescue Center and plan to do the same with the Rally Squirrel himself at the conclusion of the postseason.

"While we understand that the Rally Squirrel loves the field as much as the players and fans do, his new home will provide a much better habitat for him," said Bill Findley, Head Groundskeeper of the St. Louis Cardinals.

To make sure that the Rally Squirrel and his friends are comfortable in their new surroundings, Scotts will make a $10,000 product donation including Morning Song Squirrel & Backyard Wildlife Food, Scotts Songbird Selections Wild Bird Food and a wide array of Scotts branded lawn care products for the grounds. Scotts will also donate Miracle-Gro gardening products which will be used in conjunction with the Wildlife Rescue Center's youth gardening educational clinics.
