Scott Richman Joins Hart Energy to Lead Global Biofuels & Agriculture Service
HOUSTON, March 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott Richman has joined Hart Energy as Executive Director, Global Biofuels & Agriculture. In his new role, Richman is responsible for managing Hart Energy's North American Ethanol Database and leading multi-client studies on biofuels and agricultural feedstocks, starting with the recently launched "Renewable Ethanol: Navigating the Rapids, 2011 – 2015."

Richman is a recognized expert in ethanol, having provided consulting services to ethanol producers, distributors and related associations for 20 years. He has spoken at a numerous conferences, including the National Ethanol Conference, World Ethanol and the USDA's Agricultural Outlook Forum regarding the markets for ethanol, feedstocks and co-products and the business of renewable fuels.
Prior to joining Hart Energy, Richman was a Senior Vice President at Informa Economics, a global commodity market research and consulting firm. With Informa from 1991 to 2011, Richman served in a variety of roles, most recently as Senior Vice President and co-executive of Informa's Memphis-based consulting group. He served on the company's management committee and directly managed Informa's ethanol and agricultural biotechnology consulting practices. Founded in 1977 and acquired by Informa plc in 2003, Informa Economics serves companies, trade associations and government agencies.
Richman earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Vanderbilt University and his master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University, where he specialized in international business and was an Honorary International Fellow.
