Scotland Continues to Drive Innovation and Collaboration Across Global Offshore Industry
Companies demonstrating critical industry products and services at Offshore Technology Conference
HOUSTON, May 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Scotland's industry-leading innovative offshore developments are once again being shown at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2011, May 3-6 in Houston, as Scottish companies continue to exemplify their offshore endeavors across the globe. This year, over forty technology, personnel contracting and consulting firms, as well as several Scottish universities and government agencies will be on hand to demonstrate all that Scotland is doing to advance the world's offshore oil and gas industry.
Several of the companies under the Scottish pavilion this year are continuing the tradition of launching new products into the US market at OTC. Among other new products, Deep Casing Tools is launching an upgraded, first of its kind casing solution, the Turbocaser Express; Smart Light Devices, Ltd. and Chalmit are each introducing advanced LED floodlight devices; Intelligent Well Controls is delivering unique unmanned drilling surveillance technology; and Pipe Crawlers is launching upgraded pipeline crawling technology. EV and WFS have also teamed up to create the world's first commercial wireless subsea camera which will be revealed for the first time at OTC this week.
The forty-plus Scottish companies attending OTC will also include several firms with growing US-based activities including Xodus Group, an internationally-recognized integrated offshore consulting firm; oil and gas technology and services firm, TWMA; and TUV NEL, which provides leading-edge flare measurement system solutions and other offshore consulting to customers around the world. As a result of recently established outposts in Houston, Texas, Xodus Group, TWMA and TUV NEL, among others, are developing valuable partnerships and providing critical services to the US offshore oil and gas industry.
Organized with support from Scottish Development International, Scottish Enterprise and TalentScotland, the Scottish Pavilion (Stand 2363-14 and Stand 2365) will deliver four days of direct access to Scotland's leading offshore technology design, research and manufacturing firms. Company executives will be on hand to discuss the latest developments from and investment in Scotland, the potential for new and expanded global partnerships and where the industry is headed. In addition to an abundance of technology manufacturers supporting subsea work in the harshest conditions, Scotland will also showcase an unprecedented level of collaboration and partnerships across the oil industry - including public, private and university sector partners.
"Scotland continues to be an ideal destination for offshore technology companies around the world seeking to grow their business in an environment rich with human and natural resources," said Danny Cusick, President of North America for SDI.
