SCORE Congratulates 2012 SBA Counselor of the Year Beth Shapiro
WASHINGTON, May 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SCORE, –www.score.org- America's premier source of free and confidential small business advice, commends Elizabeth (Beth) Shapiro, education committee chair and former chapter chair of the Houston, Texas chapter of SCORE and winner of the 2012 SBA Counselor of the Year: SCORE award. This award honors an individual mentor in the SCORE Association for his or her excellence in providing counseling, training, mentoring and other program services to small businesses. The award will be presented during National Small Business Week on May 21, 2012 in Washington, DC.
Shapiro has been a member of SCORE's mentor network since 2002. She formerly served as chapter chair and currently serves as education committee chair within the SCORE Houston chapter. With over 35 years of executive experience in diverse fields including operations, sales, marketing, distribution and manufacturing, she brings extensive and varied knowledge to her small business mentoring work at SCORE. She is responsible for developing innovative, educational workshops suited to the needs of small business owners and works hard to strengthen the role of small business in the community. In 2011, workshops at the SCORE Houston chapter were attended by 3,057 local small business owners.
